The trio format really lets Bleckmann's vocals stretch out in ways a bigger ensemble would bury. I've had it on repeat during late-night drives and keep catching new details in the piano work each time.

Sly5thAve's multi-instrumental layering is what keeps pulling me back — there's a texture to this trio that a bigger ensemble just couldn't get. Erik Deutsch's piano and Bleckmann's voice play off each other in a way that feels genuinely live, not polished into sterility.

Theo Bleckmann's vocals on this are unreal — he bends notes in ways I didn't know a human voice could. I've had it on repeat during my commute all week, and the interplay between the piano and horns keeps revealing new details each listen.
