Jazz Classics: 1950s

The DSD256 transfer makes a real difference on horns—Miles' muted trumpet has this breathy texture I've never caught on my old CDs. Been playing it back to back all weekend and finding new details each pass.

I've bought a lot of remastered jazz over the years and most of it sounds compressed and flat. This one actually breathes — the horns on the 1950s sessions have real air around them.

The DSD256 transfer on this is the real deal — you can hear the room, the breath on the horn, all of it. I've been collecting 1950s jazz for years and this is the cleanest I've heard these sides.
