Introducing Jude Kofie

In a rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Octave Records is proud to present an album that transcends the paradigm of a great recording and stands on its own as a piece of history. Introducing Jude Kofie is the highly anticipated debut album from internationally renowned pianist Jude Kofie.

At just 14 years old, Jude performs with effortless sophistication and elegance across a diverse repertoire spanning jazz, gospel, Latin, and soul. Fans of jazz piano will recognize in Jude’s playing a lineage that traces back to legends such as Errol Garner and Oscar Peterson, where dazzling technical passages are balanced by simple, timeless melodies that speak to the universal language of music. Jude’s imagination in jazz is only furthered by his expansive creativity in the realm of hymns and gospel music.

Beyond the brilliance of his solo interpretations of standards and hymns, the album also showcases Jude’s remarkable musical maturity in conversation with an all-star ensemble featuring Matthew Campbell on drums, Murphy Smith on upright bass, Solomon Chapman on organ, and Parris Flemming on trumpet.

Captured in DSD256 by Callum Bair, Introducing Jude Kofie retains the simple and raw nature of the golden era of acoustic jazz records of the ’50s and ’60s, where listeners are placed right in the room to hear the stunning realism and interplay of this exceptional group. This historical recording is available on SACD and as a high-resolution download, exclusively at Octave Records.
