Sturtz gives us a raw and honest live performance of poetry, harmonies and thoughtful interplay between the musicians. Captured at Roots Music Project, an indie venue right down the street from PS Audio in Boulder, CO, this band is as Colorado original as it gets. With a blend of folk, soul and bluegrass, Sturtz conjures a unique sound that only the chemistry of their four members can create together. Available as download only, this DSD256 project is for audiophiles that love that sounds and feeling of being "in the room".

The interplay between the musicians on this one is so tight you'd swear they'd been playing together for years. I keep coming back to the quieter poetry moments, where the room noise almost disappears. Feels less like a polished album and more like being in the room with them.

The harmonies on this live recording gave me chills, especially on the quieter tracks where you can hear the room breathing along with them. It feels less like a polished album and more like sitting in the front row of a small club.

The interplay between the players here is what hooked me — you can actually hear them listening to each other instead of just running the changes. Feels like sitting in a small room on a good night, poetry and all.
